Athletics lose 3-2 to Dassel-Cokato
Starting pitcher Matt Arens did his part with a strong effort from the mound but the Athletics offensive support couldn't break through when the chances were there in a 3-2 loss to the Dassel-Cokato Saints.
Delano scored the first run of the game in the first inning when Adam Schleper stole third base on a delayed steal and then would score on an error by the Saints catcher.
The Saints would tie the game 1-1 in the fifth inning. The Athletics would score a run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Jesse Berg. The Saints took the lead in the eighth inning with two runs and led 3-2.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, John Magee and Adam Schleper led off the inning with a pair of singles, but they were left stranded in the losing effort.
John Magee led the Athletics offensively with three hits. In a quality start Matt Arens took the loss scattering six hits on three runs in seven innings of work. Chris Kubitz got the win for the Saints scattering four hits, two runs, and seven strikeouts.
